Barapind witnessed a significant protest against Bhartia Janta Party event today as BJP candidate Sushil Kumar Rinku visited the area to advance his Lok Sabha campaign. Held at the premises of local resident Mr. Mannu Sharma, the event saw a limited turnout of local residents. The visit was marked by protests from farmers, led by farmer leaders Jasvir Singh Sahota and Balwinder Singh Manna, who gathered on the road with flags voicing their opposition to Rinku. Police, anti-riot units, and Border Security Force personnel were deployed to manage the situation.
ਬੜਾਪਿੰਡ ਵਿੱਚ ਅੱਜ ਭਾਰਤੀ ਜਨਤਾ ਪਾਰਟੀ ਦੇ ਸਮਾਗਮ ਦਾ ਭਾਰੀ ਵਿਰੋਧ ਦੇਖਣ ਨੂੰ ਮਿਲਿਆ ਜਦੋਂ ਭਾਜਪਾ ਉਮੀਦਵਾਰ ਸੁਸ਼ੀਲ ਕੁਮਾਰ ਰਿੰਕੂ ਨੇ ਆਪਣੀ ਲੋਕ ਸਭਾ ਮੁਹਿੰਮ ਨੂੰ ਅੱਗੇ ਵਧਾਉਣ ਲਈ ਇਲਾਕੇ ਦਾ ਦੌਰਾ ਕੀਤਾ। ਸਥਾਨਕ ਨਿਵਾਸੀ ਸ਼੍ਰੀ ਮੰਨੂੰ ਸ਼ਰਮਾ ਦੇ ਅਹਾਤੇ ਵਿੱਚ ਆਯੋਜਿਤ ਇਸ ਸਮਾਗਮ ਵਿੱਚ ਸਥਾਨਕ ਨਿਵਾਸੀਆਂ ਦੀ ਸੀਮਤ ਸ਼ਮੂਲੀਅਤ ਦੇਖਣ ਨੂੰ ਮਿਲੀ। ਇਸ ਦੌਰੇ ਦੌਰਾਨ ਕਿਸਾਨ ਆਗੂਆਂ ਜਸਵੀਰ ਸਿੰਘ ਸਹੋਤਾ ਅਤੇ ਬਲਵਿੰਦਰ ਸਿੰਘ ਮੰਨਾ ਦੀ ਅਗਵਾਈ ਵਿੱਚ ਕਿਸਾਨਾਂ ਵੱਲੋਂ ਰੋਸ ਪ੍ਰਦਰਸ਼ਨ ਕੀਤਾ ਗਿਆ, ਜੋ ਰਿੰਕੂ ਦੇ ਵਿਰੋਧ ਵਿੱਚ ਝੰਡੇ ਲੈ ਕੇ ਸੜਕ ’ਤੇ ਇਕੱਠੇ ਹੋਏ। ਸਥਿਤੀ ਨੂੰ ਸੰਭਾਲਣ ਲਈ ਪੁਲਿਸ, ਦੰਗਾ ਵਿਰੋਧੀ ਯੂਨਿਟ ਅਤੇ ਸੀਮਾ ਸੁਰੱਖਿਆ ਬਲ ਦੇ ਜਵਾਨ ਤਾਇਨਾਤ ਕੀਤੇ ਗਏ ਸਨ।
