On October 15, 2024, a new Gram Panchayat of Barapind (Main village) was elected through voting.

Smt. Rani, wife of Sh. Balvir Chand, was elected as Panch by obtaining 100 votes. Her opponent, Smt. Manjit Kaur, wife of Jagdish Lal, received 90 votes.
